7 Fantastic Places to Eat in Garstang

Garstang might be small, but it’s not short of outstanding places to eat. In fact, there’s a real mixed bag of food and drink options in Garstang to get your mouth watering.

We’re based just outside of Garstang, which means you won’t be at all far away from this Lancashire town when you’re on holiday at Cleveleymere.

We give you everything you need to cook just about anything at your Cleveleymere holiday lodge, but if you’d like to venture out to eat, these are the 6 best Garstang restaurants, pubs, and cafes (or, at least we think so!).

The Horns Country Inn

This cozy country pub is dog-friendly and has a great selection of real ale available. The Horns Country Inn is known for its great grub and a great atmosphere.

It uses fresh and locally-sourced ingredients for its menu, and you can expect to see a mix of classic pub mains, comfort food, burgers, steak of the day, and its famed ‘swords’ (you can choose from halloumi, steak, or chipotle chicken & chorizo swords). They aren’t real swords, don’t worry, they’re like skewers.

The Horns Country Inn has an epic desserts menu that includes delights such as the candy shop sundae and the chocolate junkyard. It also has a Sunday roast menu and a gluten-free menu.

As well as its food, The Horns Country Inn has a bouncy castle for the little ones, a good beer garden for sunny days, and a quiz night on Mondays. This is a brilliant pub to visit if you’re with the family.

The Bay Horse Inn

The Bay Horse Inn prides itself on serving the freshest, tastiest food in the area. It’s an award-winning country inn that serves seasonal fare alongside a crackling selection of wine and beer.

The main menu changes with the seasons, but this season (winter 2022), has incredible dishes like slow-cooked duck legs, dry-aged fillet of beef, and celeriac soup, just to name a few.

The Bay Horse Inn also has a Sunday menu that features roast sirloin of beef, roast chicken breast, artichoke, braised beans & lentils, and baked cod fillet for the mains.

This is a particular favourite with the Cleveleymere Lakeside Lodges team!

The Fleece Inn

This traditional English Inn is situated in the picturesque Dolphinhome. It has pretty countryside surroundings and a super cozy interior.

This is a great place to visit for any occasion, whether that’s simply stopping in for a swift drink or a light lunch, or going for a slap-up meal in the evening with your nearest and dearest.

The Fleece Inn has main, sandwich, dessert, and children’s menus, as well as a wine list.

Here, you’ll find a menu of tasty pub classics as well as a ‘specials’ menu. The Patten Arms also has a Sunday roast menu, which is served with all of those tasty trimmings.

From cocktails to cask ales, there are loads of drinks for you to wet your whistle with at The Pattern Arms. And do you love liqueur coffees? Who doesn’t? You can choose from Tia Maria, Baileys, Jamesons, Drambuie, Courvoisier, and Cointreau coffees.
