Following a really warm welcome we made our way to the boathouse lodge which is quirky, has amazing views and really clean. It really was home away from home, lots of little touches which made it extra special - the chocolates and eggs and the robes. There were games to play and the view was stunning. We loved the walks, boats, lake, river, bikes, the statues, crazy golf. The list is endless!! I have one major complaint... our stay wasn't long enough - to remedy this I have already re-booked for next year. Genuinely lovely and if you don,t like it you are really hard to suite

Spent 3 nights in the Boathouse with my wife to celebrate our anniversary and my 40th. Couldn't have asked for a nicer break. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Lodge was great, cozy and comfortable like a home from home. Plenty to do there, pedalos, rowing boats, games room with pool, musical instruments, table tennis, big connect 4. Around the lake there were various fire pits next to a river. You can borrow bikes and tandems. If you like fly fishing you can do that too. It is close enough to go out for an evening meal or takeaway. The lodges are really well spaced out so it was almost like having the place to ourselves.

We stayed in the boat house. It was lovely for the two of us. There is a little upstairs bedroom for a child. The kitchen was gorgeous and well equipped, including tea, coffee and sugar and we were greeted with fresh eggs, a box of chocolates and a banner. The attention to detail is fabulous. The heating was on ready as well as the TV. We checked in at 3 and we were on the lake at 4 in a pedalo - we had the lake to ourselves. They have plenty of boats and there is hand sanitiser everywhere. We haven't come into contact with anyone else since we arrived. It's so quiet and private. The ducks are great, feed them once and they're friends for life. They would all come over in the morning when I opened the blinds and the view is the lake is spectacular. My only negative comment is that I have to go home!
