A report pulled together last year has even claimed that the number one feature UK travellers are looking for in holiday accommodation at the moment is… a hot tub. That’s even before dog-friendly holiday accommodation, self-catering, and all-inclusive!
And we get it. Spending time in a hot tub is the ultimate rest and relaxation experience – it suits everyone from couples and families to groups of friends. There are a ton of benefits to using hot tubs that people are becoming more aware of, including reducing stress and helping with chronic pain.
The Lakeside Boat House (affectionately known as The Boat House) at Cleveleymere is a quaint and comfortable lodge holiday superstar. A true home away from home. The Boat House is one of our most-loved lakeside lodges at Cleveleymere, especially for quiet family holidays. It offers you a proper retreat from the stresses of daily life.
Inside The Lodge
This is a lovely homely lodge that sleeps up to 3 people: 2 adults and 1 child.
It’s a fantastic holiday lodge for couples or small families. It has a cosy and rustic interior, and 2 bedrooms: a master bedroom and a single bedroom. The single bedroom, which is set in a stylish mezzanine area, is accessed by a spiral staircase.
If you like views and scenery, this would be a great option for you. One of the best features of The Boat House is the balcony that looks out onto the southwest of the serene Lake Cleveleymere, giving you amazing views and lots of sunshine.
There’s a decked sitting area with a private barbecue, too, giving you views over the lake. It’s not unusual for the Cleveleymere ducks to make their way over to The Boat House during the day to say hello to the guests …especially if you have food!

For cozy nights in, you’ll love this holiday lodge. We’ve put together the interior to make it a truly relaxing lodge. It has a spacious living area and is full of activities for all ages, with books, games, a TV, DVD player and DVDs, and a Nintendo Wii with games to keep you all entertained.
But the real star of the show has to be the private hot tub. You’ll get full use of the hot tub for your entire stay at The Boat House, regardless of the weather or season, so don’t forget your swimwear!
When you’re relaxing in our hot tub holiday lodge, you’ll have beautiful views over the lake. This is the perfect way to unwind after being out on Lake Cleveleymere or exploring what the Lancashire countryside has to offer.
We know how important having really good amenities for self-catering accommodation is for our guests. Not everyone wants – and it’s not always financially feasible – to eat out for every meal on holiday (although we do have some drool-worthy restaurants near Clevelyemere). So, we’ve made sure that all of our holiday lodges have everything you could need in the kitchens.
Whether you want to make a few butties here and there or you want to cook a 3-course meal to knock your partner’s socks off, you’ll be able to do that here.
The kitchen at The Boat House is equipped with everything you’ll need including a fridge freezer and you’ll have fresh free-range eggs when you arrive (and maybe a few more treats from us…!).
We’ll give you the basics like salt, pepper, and coffee. There are small shops nearby where you can buy food or you can stop off at a supermarket on your way here to stock up. We’ve noticed that some of our guests are choosing to bring slow cookers with them, too. It’s a great idea!
There’s free parking right next to The Boat House and it’s really close to the entrance of our 34-acre site, so it’s really convenient for checking in and checking out.
Our Rates
The rates for The Boat House (and all of our luxury lodges) are subject to change. We often have offers running and supplements ma apply on weekends on during school holidays. But with that said, as a general rule, you can expect a stay in The Boat House to be:
Up to 2 guests from £160.00 per night
Up to 3 guests from £180.00 per night
The Small Print
An awesome feature of The Boat House is the mezzanine bedroom. It’s great for kids because that bedroom has a single bed. But there is a spiral staircase that leads up to the mezzanine bedroom, so we recommend for safety reasons that anyone who stays in that room is at least 6 years old.

“Me and my partner stayed in the beautiful boathouse for two nights and it was more than we could have hoped for. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and the house was stocked up with everything you could need for a wonderful weekend away.
“We enjoyed playing in the Nintendo Wii with a glass of Prosecco at night! The enchanted forest walk is amazing with so many beautiful spots. Regardless of which lodge you choose to stay in, you’ll be able to use our free on-site activities. On the lake, you can use pedal boats, kayaks, and canoes, plus fishing options are available.
And within our huge woodland site, we have crazy golf, mountain bikes, giant chess and lawn games, firepits (with complimentary marshmallows for roasting when you arrive!), and a whole lot more.
Cleveleymere is situated in the picturesque village of Scorton in Lancashire (near Garstang). That means we’re just a short journey away from Lancaster, Manchester, and the Lake District. Our surroundings are brilliant for those who love walking, cycling, and excellent food and drink.
Plus, in Scorton and Garstang, the are wonderful places to eat and drink, as well as plenty of activities for little ones.
